While pursuing his career in the navy, Pastor Douglas Watermolen, began serving others in 1990 as an unlicensed minister in various prisons. His prison ministry continued in several states, a foreign country, and a military brig, both during and after his military career.

Retiring from the military after 20 years of service, he then became a licensed minister in the Church of God in 2001. He became Lead Pastor of Lifespring Chapel Church of God, in East Machias, Maine, in June of 2002. During his tenure there, he advanced from an Exhorter’s license, to an Ordained Minister, and then to Ordained Bishop in 2010.

Along with being a senior pastor, he has also served as the Northern New England District Overseer for the Down East Region, served on the Northern New England Regional Council and Youth Board, and served as the Youth Camp Coordinator.

One ministry that was near and dear to his heart was the establishment of the Shekinah House, a safe haven for battered and abused women and their children. For the Shekinah House, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director for daily operations and oversight.

Pastor Douglas Watermolen became the senior pastor at Family Worship Center in Augusta, ME in August of 2013.

On a personal note, Pastor Doug was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. During his career, he has lived all across this nation and all over the globe. He has been married to his lovely wife, Diane, for 29 years and has 4 wonderful children, Alexis (20), Keneil (19), Micaela (17), and Noah (14). He has been active in their home schooled education and is a regional representative for Home Schoolers of Maine. He is also continuing his own education through Lee University online, pursuing a B.S. in Pastoral Counseling.

Pastor Doug has an interesting testimony, which he is always happy to share. Feel free to ask him sometime, both he and you will be glad you did.

Associate Pastor

Pastor John

Although not being sure which direction to go after high school, Pastor John Giacullo was certain of one thing, he wanted to learn more about God. That striving for Godly knowledge led him to Faith School of Theology. During his second year there, he felt the Lord calling him to the ministry.

After graduation, his desire to minister was quickly put to use when the U.S. Army came calling for Vietnam. Enlisting as a Chaplain’s Assistant, he was able to minister to the men stateside and abroad, including Artillery Companies and a Field Hospital.

Once he was back home, Pastor John served as Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor at multiple churches in Maine. During this time, his heart for the people led him to continue his Godly education, culminating with a Master of Divinity Degree. His love for others was recognized as he was placed on and chaired the Northern New England Church of God World Missions Board.

Pastor John is now serving under his fourth pastor, at Family Worship Center Church of God, since joining us in 1996. He has proved to be a blessing during his time here as he has served this church in so many ways. Some of his past and present ministries here include, Adult Sunday School Teacher, V.B.S. Director/Planner, Prodigal Sons and Daughters Support Care Ministry, Ushers/Greeters Coordinator, Family Training Hour Adult Teacher, Senior Adult Ministries Coordinator, Servant Evangelism Coordinator, and Men with a Purpose Leader. All this while holding a full time job.

Joining and supporting him in his ministries is the love of his life, his wife of 46 years, Shirley. They have 2 adult children and 2 wonderful grandchildren.

Pastor John and Shirley are always happy to help and serve in any way possible.
